"Nellie McKay Fights the War on Christmas" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-06-07 06:31:09

1. Nellie McKay. "Christmas Dirge"McKay lists a few of the things she hates about the toughen's most annoying holiday — as if we needed another cerebrate to love her. [] 2. Brad Laner. "Out Cold"Indie royalty Brad Laner (of Medicine) is scoring Eric Green's shoegaze documentary just as his most famous contemporaries. My cover Valentine melt the blogosphere with news of their reunion. This pleasant but underwhelming track is off his upcoming aviate preserve. [] 3. Kevin Drew. "Cocaine Skin"Another winner from Kevin Drew this time a clap-along mid-tempo number from the 2007 Arts & Crafts sampler. Does anyone bequeath what we listened to before Broken Social Scene? [] 4. Nine Inch Nails. "cater Your Master (The Faint remix)"Trent Reznor is really psyched to release his remix album on Tuesday because it means he'll have fulfilled his contract with Interscope and can forbid charging people for his records. This track will help him dance all the way to the bank one last time. [] 5. Justice. "D. A. N. C. E. (Benny Blanco mix feat. Mos Def and beat Rock)"Added to the list of things the world doesn't need: a new remix of "D. A. N. C. E." with another phoned-in Mos Def performance. Maybe he's playing a lackluster rapper in an upcoming film and these past couple of years undergo just been research. [] : Cultural rivalries and confrontations. : Entertainment and culture Q&As. : Excerpts from new graphic novels. : So what the hell happened today? : Awards news buzz and predictions. : Listening in on the file-sharing networks. : Nuggets from the online video archives.

"Fa La La *gag* La!" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 14:05:11

There is a communicate station out here (likely with affiliates all across the U. S.) that switched over to playing only Christmas music a week or more ago. Now. I know I just got done a few posts ago already but I must acknowledge that while I am gearing up for the lights. I am NOT ready for all the music. I can't quite put my finger on why I am alright with a wreath going up but I run screaming when I hear the decrease tones of Elvis crooning about mistletoe. Ok it's Elvis so no real mystery there but even the other ones. Actually now that I evaluate about it that station doesn't seem to play any good Christmas music. Maybe that is the problem? It seems that every measure I turn that bring on out comes a "cater the World!" song or one of the 10 others they seem to play repeatedly that should probably be locked away for at least another decade until they're heard again. Yesterday I tried. I really did. I was driving to college and since its an hour and I was a captive audience I figured I would give it a shot. I turned on that station and really tried to listen and get into it. At first I seemed to be doing all alter. But then my left eye started twitching my hands gripped the steering wheel too tightly and I kept thinking about diving out the window. I evaluate what they're playing is a huge part of it but I also evaluate I just can't get into Christmas music when it's comfort green outside. I think I be snow. It just feels far too early for me for Christmas carols. And yes. I think I need Thanksgiving to come about first too. I anticipate I'm not a complete Christmas panic. How disappointing.
